Frequently Asked Questions Minimize

Can you build a water garden in a screened in room?

Answer: We would prefer to create a water garden in a screened room in the construction phase before the screen and flooring is put up, but we can easily build the water garden in an existing screened room. Do you own a water garden? Answer: We have a beautiful natural-looking pondless waterfall in our from yard.  I practice what I preach.

Did you purchase your water garden business from someone else, or are you just getting started in the past few years?

Answer: We have been transforming people’s yards in the Jacksonville area for over a decade, and we have the experience and expertise that can back us up.

Is your business in  the Jacksonville area, or are you from out of town?

Answer: We are from the Jacksonville area, Jacksonville Beach to be exact. Do you offer any scheduled maintenance programs? Answer: We have many options when it comes to maintenance.  We can help a little, a lot, or guide you on how to properly care for your water garden.  We don’t want to work for you and forget about you.  We are committed to complete customer satisfaction.  If you have a question about your water garden, don’t hesitate to call me.    Jeff (904)-333-7785

Are you licensed and insured?

Answer: We carry business insurance with coverage up to 2 million dollars per year, and 1 million dollars per occurrence.  We are licensed in Duval County, and some of the surrounding areas.

How many water gardens have you installed?

Answer: We have installed over 100 water gardens in the Northeast Florida area.  We might have worked for one of your neighbors.

If you have any questions about anything within the water gardening industry, do you have any body to consult with for solutions or guidance to any circumstance that may come up?

Answer: We have several, “elders”, in the water garden industry that offer us support.  Combined, these are people who have built hundreds of water gardens.   We are also connected to the Aquascape support system.

If we want to build our own water garden, can you help us do it right?

Answer: Yes we can.  We have helped several homeowners build their own water garden with a little help.  We usually can help with some of the more technical stuff light hooking up the skimmer box, and the plumbing.  Also some people have had us do the waterfall part for them too.

Where do we plug in the pump?  Do we need a special electrical outlet?

Answer: After we are finished, we will know the ideal place to mount your electric box.  We are not licensed electricians.  You will want to have a licensed electricaninstall a GFI outlet for the pump and light transformer.   We will provide you with the pump's specifications so the correct wiring is performed.  Installing an improper electric fixture without the proper amps and voltage could cause the pump to fail sooner, along with many other complications that could occur.   Please do it right and call a licensed electrician.

Do you offer any warrantees on your work?

Answer: We offer a 2-year warranty our workmanship and the pump.    Excluding things like tornados, hurricanes, trees, cars driving into the pond, vandalism, armadillos,  etc.

Do you give clients a  certain price for their project, then at the end of the project add in extra costs for labor and materials that weren't discussed?

Answer: Absolutely not.  If there are changes they will be made in written form.  Sometimes people will have to pay an electrician to install the proper GFI outlet for the pump and light transformer.  This obviously is an added cost that we have no control over.  Sometimes it could be $125, or $1250, or even more depending on your unique circumstances. Getting back to the surprises at the end of the job question.   It is our experience that sometimes people are so happy with the work we did for them, that  we are the ones surprised at the end with people sometimes paying us an extra $500, $1000, or even adding another water feature to a different part of their yard.

Do you specialize in water gardens, or do you do a little of everything?

Answer: Although we can offer specialty landscape design,  and all phases of stone work, we specialize in building beautiful water gardens and koi ponds.  That way we can focus on beautiful natural looking water features.   We are partnered with some of the area's leading experts in everything from pools to pavers, screen rooms to summer kitchens, formal outdoor fireplace design to fencing, outdoor sound systems to sunrooms, decks to docks & bulkheads.   We can refer you to other quality companies that offer turn key outdoor projects where they do all of the legwork of meeting with people, getting estimates, and making sure the project is done properly.

We also have a small lawn service that we work one day per week.  This helps us keep our bills paid so we can build ponds and pondless waterfalls because we love to...not because we have to.

Do you take credit cards?

Answer: We do not take credit cards.

Can you build a water garden in the back of my husband’s pickup truck?

Answer: Just seeing if you are paying attention!  This was an actual question that I received one day.  Sure we can.  I don’t know why you would want that, but we could do it.

Why do you build water features?

Answer: Building water features has become a passion to me and my team.  We enjoy being able to completely transform an area with our water gardens.  Even better is the mesmerizing effect our projects have on people.   We have people tell us that they have guests that can’t quit looking at their water feature.  It also happens to us.  It is very gratifying to create art that flows.

What is the average time frame for building a water garden?

Answer: Usually our average sized projects take less than a week depending on weather and special circumstances.  We have had larger custom water gardens take longer than a week.  Scheduling effects our timing.   Depending on how busy we get, we could be booked up for anywhere from less than 1 week, to 2 months or more.

Do you have any where that we can see your work?

Answer: Take the Mini Pond and Waterfall Tour.
